People are looking for ways to save money and the use of solar power is one such effective way. Noticing the instability in their careers and businesses, people are looking to take control of their financial destiny more than ever before. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a huge toll on the global economy. “ It’s a small world in this industry where all the leaders know each other and no other solar company is as thorough with training their sales force as we are,” adds Justin. This detailed thorough training provided by the company distinguishes it from its peers. The master franchisees will have a regional territory and will be trained by the company’s lead solar expert, Jeramie Rose in Southern CA-who successfully put together the first direct sales team for Solar City, before being acquired by Tesla. The company is overcoming this challenge by planning the release of its Master Franchise in early 2021. With the addition of more franchisees, providing personal ongoing training is one of the major challenges confronting Solar Grids. None of Solar Grid’s franchises compete with one another as it is a community of like-minded franchisees who benefit from the experience and ideas of one another. The company values its culture and while awarding franchises, it seeks qualities such as the drive and ambition to be coachable, and the ability to add value to the community. Solar Grids strives to flip the industry on its head by scaling to 400 locations in the next 4 years while providing transparent pricing with value and integrity. Moreover, since the company has 48 states covered in its contractor network, the franchisees have a nationwide business from the onset. They attend Solar School, a 4-day, 16-hour virtual training, and have a protected territory that only they can actively market in, however, they can accept referrals from anywhere in the nation and be paid on the install. The franchisees can pick and choose which services they offer. It also provides its own in-house peer-to-peer financing platform that connects individual investors to a customer to finance their solar system in a PPA model. The company offers residential, commercial, and other solar services such as community solar and solar farms. Once the customer is ready to sign the digital agreement in the Solar Grids’ app, the home office handles the rest to complete the install. Solar Grids is a unique solar franchise that provides all of the back-end services for its franchisees through its nationwide network of contractors in 48 states. In the beginning of 2020, they decided to step into residential solar and established Solar Grids. However, at the tail end of 2018 after multiple brainstorming sessions, they decided to launch both Elite funds–a private equity firm, and also a solar company, Hexeton Energy–Solar Grids’ parent company focusing on commercial solar. Coincidentally, in December 2018, he received a text from Larry Schroder ( President and Co-founder at Solar Grids), who had a dream with a clear message to call Justin.Īfter working together as partners for 9 years in multiple endeavors, including real estate, Forex trading, business funding, and credit restoration, both Justin and Larry had taken separate paths in 2014. However, after about a year and a half, he realized that the company was highly unorganized and was not the company he could scale and grow with. He launched several private equity funds funding solar projects for that company. Justin Kaiser ( CEO and Co-founder at Solar Grids) entered the solar investment space in 2016 and began raising money for a solar company. ![]() The company is committed to providing reliable and affordable power, professional installation and maintenance, and high-quality customer care. As a result of the desire towards a more green society, renewable energy sources such as solar power are gaining importance. Businesses are opting for and adapting to more environmentally-friendly practices and sustainability is at the top of several government agendas. Though the environment has been a topic of discussion for decades now, it is presently getting more attention than ever. ![]() This virtual pet game does offer a lot of little things to discover, but as a whole there's not a lot to Nintendogs. Hopefully Nintendo can put this physics engine to use in other DS games, because even when limited, it's pulled off extraordinarily well in Nintendogs. Each of these items reacts in their own, very realistic way, behaving as a tennis ball, soccer ball, rubber toy, stick, or other dog toy would after it's thrown and knocked around. And players have the ability to use these items to interact with their pet by throwing them or moving them around the enclosed room. There are literally dozens of objects that can be found on the puppy's walk around the neighborhood, from balls to bones to toys like remote controlled helicopters. What's also very impressive about Nintendogs is the physics engine employed in the environments. It's hard not to become emotionally attached to these dogs right from the start because they truly act the part of looking adorable and latching onto their owners. The developers clearly looked at the behavior of real puppies and employed them in Nintendogs. These guys (and gals), though adopting a slightly stylized look, appear incredibly lifelike thanks to the attention to detail both in their modeling and in their animation cycles. This product features some seriously impressive 3D that really make the puppies come alive on the Nintendo DS screen. Though Nintendo's usually downplayed the Nintendo DS system's graphical capabilities, no one can say that Nintendogs can't keep up with current generation visuals. And it's something about the design you'll have to accept. Was it too much outside noise? Is it because you have a cold? Is the dog just being bad? Sometimes it's all three, or none of the above, but you'll never know for sure. The game turns those three spoken phrases into a waveform that the dog will recognize, and while it's best that the same person who recorded the command uses them, the system can certainly recognize someone else's attempt at speaking the particular phrase and this comes into play in the game's fun "Bark Mode." The voice recognition isn't perfect, and sometimes it isn't clear why a phrase isn't registered. Any trick requires players to speak the command at least three times, and sometimes more depending on how much differently each command has been spoken in turn. The tech is capable but clearly limiting, but it does its job well in the proper environments. ![]() Without it, the game wouldn't be half as fun or interesting because, quite frankly, half the experience with a real dog is interacting verbally. The most prominent Nintendogs bullet point is the design's speech recognition technology. Your dogs can never grow up or die, living in a reality where they don't age, leave their owners, or get hit by cars. For example, if your dog is absolutely rambunctious around other puppies, bringing another dog into your family might make it impossible to train the new arrival. What you do with your dog affects its personality, which, in turn, can affect other points in your experience with him. Pet it, play with it, wash it, take it for a walk, enter it into competitions. Good boy! Get the guide now!Įssentially players take care of their choice of puppy and do what you would do with a real dog without the hassle of any real responsibility. Nintendogs Guide Wrap your head around the Japanese import. And while the concept doesn't go all that far beyond a simple pet sim, it at least opens a whole new world of potential on the Nintendo DS and shows even the system naysayers that the Nintendo handheld can do so much new stuff right out of the box. Everything that the Nintendo DS is has been utilized in some fashion in the game design, from touch-screen interactivity to "pet" your puppy to the built-in microphone used to give vocal commands for tricks. This experience was tailor made for the Nintendo DS system so much that it almost feels like that it was the other way around: that Nintendogs was influential to the R&D of the Nintendo DS hardware itself. This idea goes back as far as the Tamagotchi and probably even further than that, but no virtual pet has had as much put into its production as Nintendogs does. Nintendogs isn't anywhere near a new concept. The choice of which Nintendogs to pick up is simply a matter of which breed you want to begin your virtual life together - all 18 standard breeds are in all versions of Nintendogs, and when you work together with your puppy the other breeds become available in the kennel for adoption. The only difference between the three is the set of six puppies that are available to the user at the start of the Nintendogs experience. ![]() Nintendogs comes in three flavors: Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends, Nintendogs: Lab & Friends, and Nintendogs: Chihuahua & Friends, but they're essentially one and the same. ![]() In fact, I didn't even have to pay for mine as it was a freebie that came along with a condenser mic I bought one time.Īnd the Dean Markley gave me an idea. ![]() It's cheap, about fifty bucks, though there is one for a little more that has a cute meter on it. and I always run it through an ART tube preamp that both changes the impedance and also cooks the signal nicely through a 12AX7 preamp tube before going into main amplification or a mixing board for recording. (You can get preamps that will drop it to a low-impedance range of around 600 ohms, but it's usually not really necessary.) I use a Dean Markley transducer pickup that can be temporarily stuck on an instrument, and I use it on everything - guitars, mandolins, hammer dulcimers, etc. A preamp drops the impedance from the piezo's millions of ohms to a more reasonable thousands of ohms. Piezo pickups have an impedance ranging in the millions of ohms, meaning that a long wire coming out of a non-preamped piezo can turn 'microphonic' and create harsh noise when the wire is moved. The main thing I want to impart upon you is that all piezo pickups need a preamp if you have a wire coming out of it more than a foot or two. And I've never found a suitable alternative for a tiny 1/8" piezo pickup that looks like a nitroglycerin tablet with a wire coming out of it. The truly unfortunate part of this story is that Barcus-Berry no longer produces the Hot Dot piezos. He said that some of the harmonics and such coming from different parts of the guitar were really nice, but some of the sounds weren't so nice and only useful for creating noise. I don't remember precisely how he controlled it all except that he used preamps for the Hot Dots, and he was able to mix the various piezo sounds coming from different parts of the guitar. (It was the cover article as he was on the cover holding the charred guitar he did this to.) But it's been decades since I read the Guitar Player magazine article in which he described it. For the neck and peghead piezos, I think he ran the wiring through the truss rod channel. In those days, Barcus-Berry made tiny little piezo pickups that were just 1/8" across called "Hot Dots", and Zappa drilled holes and stuck these Hot Dots all over the guitar. Zappa then proceeded to install about nineteen (19) piezo pickups in various postions on the peghead, neck, and body of the guitar. There is a lot of controversy over just which burned Strat it was, but it's pretty certain that it wasn't the famous Monterey Pop Festival incineration. ![]() He started by building a Strat from a charred body of one of Hendrix's Strats that was burned onstage. But you asked about what others have done with multiple piezos in a guitar to get different sounds, so.įrank Zappa created what I consider to be the ultimate piezo'ed electric guitar. I don't know if this will help you or not. especially if you don't have tone shaping circuitry down the line. If you set it up, and it sounds good for the tone you are going for, then it is probably a good element to use. I've used discs from old drum toys even with nice results. As far as the difference in elements, it is a matter of experimentation for the most part, especially if you don't know the specs of the parts you are using. Changing where it is placed is nice, but also if it is not secured well then movements will be picked up pretty loudly. Then you can tape it where you want and plug it into an amp or recording device. For a less permanent and more variable set up, you can just solder the piezo element to the two leads of a shielded cable, with a plug on the other end. It seems to work pretty well this way, though you can just hook it straight to a jack without the active circuitry. In that guitar I have a "tone" pot which fades between the two pickups, then a three band active EQ, and a simple transistor based gain circuit on the output. It seems like this will pick up slightly less string noise and feedback. Placing them securely just below the bridge is a common situation. ![]() My recent "Parallel Killer" guitar built (sort of like a cigar box guitar) has two piezo elements, one focussing on high strings, and one low. I've used just basic disc piezo elements a couple of times. It's all a matter of taste, and what sort of response you want from your guitar. Position the vehicle on the designated headlamp aim standing area.Īlign the headlamp aim testing equipment to the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.ĭetermine the appropriate headlamp beam image and its aim (see Diagrams 1, 2 and 3).įor complex lens systems - meaning those that have more than one lamp behind a single lens - make sure the test equipment is aligned exactly on the centre of the dipped beam pocket.
